ILEA Helps: An Overview of Financial Programs for Event Professionals

Due to the importance of this content with our current economic situation, this event is open for everyone in the events industry. An ILEA membership is not required.

As event professionals, we were one of the first industries to be affected by the COVID19 pandemic. ILEA Austin has invited Mari Ramirez, CPA to help provide an overview of the financial programs (CARES Act, Economic Injury Disaster Loan, SBA Loans, etc) to help the events community understand the next steps for themselves or their businesses.

Mari Ramirez is an experienced CPA who has been in public accounting in the greater Austin area for over 10 years. She wrote a chapter on financial empowerment in “The Better Business Book, Volume 2” and is the owner of a paperless CPA firm in Austin and Georgetown and has consulted many small to medium businesses on financial metrics, budgeting, accounting procedures and helping businesses sell to other businesses for long term growth. Mari has received a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in Accounting and received Humanitarian of The Year award from TAMIU for her efforts to educate students on the political process. She has spent many years helping non-profits at her practice and as a volunteer, including Foundation for Learning and Youth Travel Education (FLYTE) and Gwenievere Mann Foundation where she served as treasurer for both organizations and has helped many organizations also become a 501(c )3 with the IRS. She is the past President of Georgetown Art Works and a CASA Williamson county volunteer. She has spoken at various events and panels for different industry and freelance groups, coaching how to start businesses, grow businesses and speaking on tax strategies, including Indie Pub Austin and Women Communicators of Austin. Mother of four, ranging from ages 20 years to 22 months, Mari is also one of the 10 founders of Lark and Owl Booksellers, the only indie bookstore in Williamson County.
